Yard work...finally

I'm making a lot of progress on the Aubergine Wonder Cardi. Here it is before I blocked it:

Back on the left, sleeves at the top and front on the right. It's actually much further along than depicted - it's seamed up and I've been working on the 5 inches of collar for the last week. I didn't have take recent pics because we've been extremely busy with...

This beast of a project. We had to do something about the front yard. A nasty combo of builder-supplied patio stones and dead lawn (courtesy of moi...fertilizer in the wrong hands is not pretty). A lot of hard work and a weekend later, and we have a brand new front yard! Ouch, my back!

Soggy Victoria Day

It's been a rainy, cold holiday weekend, which means that I've been able to catch up on some knitting (photos to follow - making excellent progress on the Aubergine Wonder Cardi).

Last week, I wandered around the Tulip beds at Dow's Lake early in the morning before any crowds showed up for the Tulip festival. It was cold. It was drizzly. But I got some pretty good pics of my favorite flower. For additional graphic evidence, visit here.

In the photo below, you'll note the fellow ambling toward me on a bike. We ended up nearly having a confrontation as he approached - he swore at me and muttered something about getting out of his way.  Uh - ever hear of pedestrians having the right of way? Damn Hippie. Dscn0401
