Wooly-Bully

Now that I've finished the mittens, I'll be working on other things this weekend - like posting my Singer Featherweight sewing machine on Ebay to make room for Lola (she has red buttons; photos to follow in late November).

Meanwhile I have another project on the go - Estimated Time to Complete (ETC): Not a clue. It's meant as a gift for someone (it could be YOU!), and I've had to re-start it literally 6-7 times.

On the left is the back, and on the right is the front (palm). That's right - it's a glove! As soon as I saw the Gauntlet glove pattern in the Fall Interweave Knits, I thought of the recipient. The gloves will be about 3+ inches longer than the wrist (hence the "gauntlet"). I've had to re-start the thing so many times for a few reasons:

a) I'm still getting accustomed to working with double pointed needles

b) I'm still getting accustomed to working with cables

c) The combination of (a) and (b) has necessitated practicing until I got it right.

Like many other knitters, I have jumped onto the Ribby Cardi bandwagon. I'm not one to jump onto bandwagons, but I couldn't resist the modern pattern and the amazing price ($2.70ca!!!) of the Peruvian Highland wool at Elann. Quite frankly, I was overwhelmed with the choice of amazing colors. But in a good way.

Here's what I chose: Admiral blue and Celery.

I also chose Ruby and Lime Ice as a birthday gift for my sister (August). Note: Ruby is sold out, so below is Claret. The colors are very close, though.

Now, to begin Saturday!
