Mega Pile Soup Coins (in that order)
My next project is looming:
It's..... THE MEGA PILE. This quilt was actually pieced together 1 and a half years ago. Which was great, except that I rushed through it, didn't cut the fabric well and ended up with a not-so-stellar finished product. So, I tore it apart, and I'm starting over. First step: re-cut the squares. Why do I feel a strong sense of procrastination coming on?
And because it's so.......very.........appropriate, my favorite fridge magnet:
It's appropriate for good reason: I can't cook. Every once and a while, I'll make a sad attempt that Marc will (bless his heart) choke down and sometimes he'll even (God help him) ask for seconds in order to spare my feelings. On Sunday, I was feeling ambitious and thought "Hey, I'll make soup. How hard could that be? Dump everything in a pot, turn on the burner, yummy." I'll never know how I can make something so easy turn horribly wrong. I made the slimiest, gooiest beef barley soup. More meat sludge, anyone?
Canada has introduced the world's first colored circulated coin to commemorate Remembrance Day. Find it here. Pretty, isn't it? Note that it's only available at Tim Horton's. That's right, only in Canada are commemorative coins exclusively available from your local coffee/donut shop (no, I'm not kidding - you can't even get them at the bank).
